Using the information you already have regarding the cost of specific items in the ‘50s, ‘60s,’70s,’80s, and ‘90s, you are to make and complete a chart. The following example should help you.
This is a sample of information you already have:
The Cost of a Gallon of milk.

Percent of change in a gallon of milk.
These percentages are figured as you learned in class.
For example, from 1958-1968, you must first subtract .60-.50=.10. You then
make a proportion as follows:
Solve the proportion to obtain 20%. This must be done
for all three items you researched so your final chart will look like this:
| 1. Gallon of Milk |
| 2. Gallon of Gas |
| 3. McDonald's Hamburger |
Your percent of change may be a percent of decrease if the price declined form one decade to the next. If so, indicate this by a negative sign in front of your percentage. All percentages are to be rounded to the nearest whole %.
Your final chart may be done on a computer if you like or it may be done neatly by hand.
